Creating a Cover Letter from Scratch

Nancy wrote: "You are a prolific writer – good on you- but I am a true 'Visual Learner' and I would like to see an example of the actual cover letter. 'A picture says a thousand words.' I appreciate your enthusiasm!" Thanks Nancy! I appreciate the comments and questions. In order to do justice to Nancy's request, I will give you a real-world example. I'm going to warn you, this is a very long blog post (almost 3,000 words), and each part of it is important.

Monday Millennials – Declare Peace

I'm about the most rabid advocate for the millennial generation you will ever meet. Usually this takes the form of me berating the "corporate bastards" on Twitter and writing angry blogs in response to ageist blog posts and magazine articles. They, in turn, largely ignore these as they sit on gold thrones and count their rapidly shrinking piles of money.

Calling Bullsh!t – Stop Employer Facebook Spying Today

The economy sucks and employers are just looking for excuses to trim the fat. Especially true if that fat isn't attached the company yet. One of the fastest ways to be rejected from a new job or to be fired from your current job is to leak sensitive or objectionable information on your Facebook profile. Never mind that social media spying is unethical in its own right, no, no, it rests squarely on our shoulders to carry the burden of witless and mistrusting employers.
