* Dress Code
o A monkey in a suit still looks like a better monkey than one who looks like a hippie or worse - one who isn't wearing anything at all. Don't try that either...
* Come up with an original idea for yourself themed in your career
* Focus on 5 companies whose attention you want the most
o Find a company listing and choose wisely
o Use your "original idea" on those 5 companies
o Bring at least 30 copies of your resume for everyone else
* Dress up your resume
o Look it over with a friend for spelling mistakes
o If you have access to free or low-cost resume review, take advantage of it
* Practice, Practice, Practice
o "whatareyougonnadowiththat" ninjas are everywhere. Be prepared. Be a pirate.
* Finally: The List!
o 3 things you're very good at
o 3 cool things you've done in school or at work
o 3 questions about the company - it shows you're not just passing out your resume.
o A great question - "Tell me about a need at your company you think I could fill."
